A BEAUTIFUL ITALIAN MADE MANDOLIN, ca. 1920-30s, MADE IN NAPLES.
PAPER LABEL = STRIDENTE
Via ANTONIO 22
Top = Spruce
Ribs, peghead veneers, back of neck covered all in Brazilian Rosewood.
Many Inlays including fingerboard, soundhole/rosette, pickguard, and the edges are alternating Ebony and Mother of Pearl blocks.
Nice inset Tuners, looks like bone buttons.
The neck has a slight back bow, so very low action & good sounding.
One old repair to top, being a line crack , and now stable. ALSO: One fret at the very end of the fingerboard is a bit too high, causing some muting out up there near the soundhole.
